Music fans can’t wait for 20 November because that’s the day of the American Music Awards 2022. Nominations are already announced, and we can’t wait to see how our favorite artists win great awards.
This year, Bad Bunny received eight nominations in different categories. He will tie with Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for most awards in one year if he wins them all.
Also, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Drake, Adele, The Weeknd, and Harry Styles of them received five to six nominations in various categories.
Why is Bad Bunny So Popular on AMAs?
We all know the Puerto Rican artist and his influence on the music scene over the years. This year, he released a new album and went on a tour. All of it resulted in Bad Bunny tickets being sold out on every ticket platform.
Knowing that, it’s not even surprising he received that many nominations. Many expect that he will win them all, or at least half of them.
His fans put a lot of hope in his success, even though many other exceptional nominations deserve to win.
American Music Awards Predictions and Expectations
Bad Bunny is nominated in eight categories: Favorite Latin Song, Favorite Touring Artist, and Favorite Male Pop Artist. Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are among the Favorite Female Pop artists and Artists of the Year Nominees. In the AMAs, they will face Drake, Adele, Harry Styles, and The Weeknd in the Artist of the Year category.
This year, our favorite artists will try to win in 37 categories.
When it comes to the Artist of the Year, we think everyone has an equal chance to win it. All of the nominees did great in 2022, and they deserve to win, but we all know only one of them can take the award home.
The nominees are:
- Adele
- Bad Bunny
- Beyonce
- Drake
- Harry Styles
- Taylor Swift
- The Weeknd
Can you choose one of them? Neither can we.
Eurovision Winners to Fight for American Music Award
The Italian band Maneskin became a global sensation after winning Eurovision in 2021. Now, they are nominated in the New Artist of the Year category, together with Dove Cameron, GAYLE, Latto, and Steve Lacy.
Do they have a chance to win? We can say they did a great job in one year. It’s a challenging path from the European alternative scene to AMA nomination, so Maneskin has a great chance to win this category.
Viral Hits for Collaboration Awards
Two exceptionally viral songs are nominated in the category Collaboration of the Year. We all know “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” by the Encanto cast. Both tunes are super viral on social media, especially TikTok. We think they can win over “Stay” by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber or “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa.
Male vs. Female Pop Artists
Knowing the nominees, we can say it would be rough to announce just one of them.
Bad Bunny, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, and The Weeknd are nominated in the Male Pop Artists category. In the female category, nominees are Adele, Beyonce, Doja Cat, Lizzo, and Taylor Swift.
It’s such an ungrateful thing to predict who will win because they were all great last year.
What Was Your Favorite Album in 2022?
Adele is loyal to her album names, and her most recent “30” is nominated for AMA Favorite Pop Album. She will have to fight with Bad Bunny, Beyonce, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.
In this case, we think Harry Styles is the winner because everyone loves his new album. Or maybe Beyonce? Again, listening to the winner’s announcement in this category would be really exciting.
R&B or Hip-Hop?
These genres are pretty related, but categories are separated. Drake or Kendrick Lamar will probably win the Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, while Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are our favorites in the female one.
We are almost sure The Weeknd will win in the Favorite Male R&B Artist category, but Beyonce will rock the Favorite Female R&B Artist or even maybe the R&B Album of the year.
Let’s Dance on Latin Sounds
Latin trap is the ultimate favorite genre of 2022. The Latin categories are direct proof of that. While in Male Latin Artist nominees are Bad Bunny, Farruko, J Balvin, Jhayco, and Rauw Alejandro, we can see the Female Latin Artist category Anitta, Becky G, Karol G, Rosalia, and Kali Uchis. And we can’t really decide who is the best among them all because they all deserve the popularity they have.
We love to see Bad Bunny’s “Me Porto Bonito” winning the Favorite Latin Song Award, even though Becky G and Karol G’s collaboration was everything we needed this year.
Do you have any favorites or predictions? Don’t miss this year’s AMAs, because surely there will be a lot of fun during the ceremony.
